Yallambee Traralgon Village for the Aged Inc. has been a cornerstone of aged care services in the region since 1971. Over the years, the facility has grown significantly, with a major self-funded project in 2006 increasing residential care capacity to 96 places. Subsequent expansions included the creation of Waratah House in 2011 and Laurel House in 2016, adding 30 more resident rooms. As of 2020 with the completion of Acacia House, Margery Cole Residential Care offers 120 aged care places, alongside 92 independent living units in Yallambee Retirement Village—all set in a supportive community atmosphere surrounded by landscaped gardens.
At Margery Cole Residential Aged Care, the thoughtful design prioritises both physical and social well-being, creating a space where residents feel at home, supported, and engaged with their community. The facility is designed to foster comfort and independence. Spread across five beautifully designed and welcoming houses—Grevillia, Banksia, Waratah, Laurel, and Acacia—residents can choose from four room types, each featuring private en-suites to ensure privacy and comfort.
Margery Cole caters to a wide range of needs, from those requiring minimal assistance with daily activities to those with more complex care requirements. The facility offers permanent care, specialist palliative care services, dementia care within all Houses, and respite care for individuals recovering from illness or for families who need temporary relief from full-time caregiving. This service is offered for people with all levels of care needs.
Yallambee Retirement Village offers one and two-bedroom units, allowing residents to maintain an independent lifestyle for as long as possible. Village residents can enjoy a range of social activities while also participating in the events and programs held at Margery Cole. This strong, inclusive community spirit is at the heart of the Yallambee experience.
Yallambee Traralgon Village for the Aged boasts a team of highly qualified and dedicated staff who provide exceptional care tailored to the unique needs of each resident. With a person-centered approach emphasising compassion and dignity, the team is committed to ensuring every resident receives the highest quality of care.
